Job summary

Able SC is seeking a part-time Community Support Member to provide direct services, information, and referrals across South Carolina. You will deliver independent living skills training, group training, and peer mentorship to people with disabilities, while connecting clients to Able SC programs and external partners.

The role emphasizes advocacy, community outreach, and collaboration with local resources. Aimee Calcutt is the local contact for applications, with opportunities to gain experience

Responsibilities

• Contribute to online content and presentations promoting disability awareness and culture
• Participate in community service events, outreach programs, and educational projects
• Assist with community preparedness and disaster response efforts
• Provide mentorship to build confidence and foster personal development through direct service
• Advocate and peer mentor for the rights of people with disabilities
• Respond to inquiries about South Carolina resources by phone, email, or walk-ins
• Connect individuals with Able SC programs or external organizations
• Provide one-on-one services including goal-setting and peer support
