Job summary

Northeast Arc's Guided Personal Supports (GPS) program is built around the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to grow, connect, and live their best life. As a Community Support Coach, you will play a meaningful, hands-on role in making that possible.

Working 1:1 with adults who have developmental disabilities and are supported through the DDS, you will provide in-home and community-based support rooted in Northeast Arc's mission of changing lives and discovering abilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (DD), preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient technology skills for documentation and clock-in/out.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and safely access the community.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass all required background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 in-home and community-based support for adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Accompany and support individuals in accessing community locations (stores, libraries, theaters, restaurants).
  • Assist with goal-directed activities (light physical activity, arts and crafts, cooking).
  • Complete required documentation and progress notes timely; clock in/out with required technology.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and follow agency policies and procedures.
  • Communicate progress and concerns with GPS Program Director.

Location: Northshore Community (In-Person) Schedule: Per Diem, 2-10 hours per week

Target Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 hourly

Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to, the individual's experience, education, and internal equity.

As a Community Support Coach, you will play a meaningful, hands-on role in making that possible. Working 1:1 with adults who have developmental disabilities and are supported through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), you will provide in-home and community-based support rooted in Northeast Arc's mission of changing lives and discovering abilities. Your work will focus on helping individuals build skills in areas like community integration, daily living, and social engagement so they can become more independent and active members of the Northshore community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 in-home and community-based support for adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Accompany and support individuals in accessing community locations such as grocery stores, local libraries, movie theaters, restaurants, and other local establishments.
  • Safely assist and support clients in goal-directed activities such as light physical activity, arts and crafts, and cooking.
  • Complete required documentation and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner, and clock in and out using required technology when working.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and follow all applicable agency policies and procedures during all interactions.
  • Communicate effectively with the GPS Program Director regarding individual progress, concerns, and updates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient technology skills sufficient to complete required documentation and clock in and out when working.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and safely access the community.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Must be able to safely assist and support clients in goal-directed activities such as light physical activity, arts and crafts, and cooking.
  • Must successfully complete and pass all required background checks as a condition of employment.
