Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a Social Worker to deliver professional social work services to American Indian communities. You will assess needs, support patient care, and collaborate with medical and behavioral health teams to improve health outcomes.

You will respond to crises, manage complex psychosocial cases, and provide guidance to staff on psychosocial factors affecting care, while upholding federal guidelines and cultural sensitivity in service delivery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program (or enrolled with expected completion within 9 months).
• Eligibility for licensure as LISW/LCSW/CISW or equivalent within nine months of application.
• U.S. citizenship and successful background check requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive biopsychosocial and mental health assessments and formulates diagnostic impressions.
• Responds to urgent and emergent mental health and psychosocial crises in clinical, community, and emergent settings.
• Provides clinical case management services addressing complex medical, behavioral health, social, environmental, and cultural determinants of health.
• Provides consultation to medical, behavioral health, and administrative staff regarding psychosocial and behavioral health factors impacting patient care.
