Job summary

Pierce County Sheriff's Office is recruiting a Community Service Officer to provide information to the public, direct problem resolution, and assist with public safety tasks at assigned precincts. The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and independent work in a fast-paced environment.

Successful candidates will work standard shifts at the South Hill or Parkland-Spanaway precincts, with non-remote duties, one-year probation, and a thorough background process.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least nineteen (19) years of age.
• US citizenship, lawful permanent resident or DACA recipient, and English proficiency as required.
• Valid Washington State driver's license at time of appointment and proof of insurability.
• Ability to complete Pierce County Sheriff's Office background investigation including checks and interviews.

Responsibilities

• Direct people to the appropriate department units or services and facilities outside the office.
• Act as a liaison with residential and government entities to resolve nuisance issues.
• Carry out vehicle removal duties, issue parking citations and coordinate impound procedures.
• Drive to locations of reported abandoned vehicles and determine property type for impound.
• Write incident reports for listed crimes where no on-scene investigation is required.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation and prepare quarterly reports.
• Monitor impound vehicles and coordinate release with owners and tow companies.
