Job summary

Built for the Badge is seeking a Community Service Officer II assigned to the Boise Police Department Front Counter at City Hall West. The position serves as the primary contact for the public seeking police services, information, resources, or assistance, and provides in-person public service by evaluating requests, interviewing, and preparing police reports and documentation.

The officer assists department operations, may respond to calls, collect and process evidence, and support Patrol

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Boise City and Idaho State criminal codes.
• Knowledge of law enforcement programs and procedures.
• Proficiency with computer software and DSLR camera usage.
• Basic report preparation skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for the public at Boise Police Department Front Counter.

• Prepare police reports and documentation.
• Answer questions regarding police procedures, laws, ordinances, and community resources.
• Direct individuals to appropriate services.

Job description

This Community Service Officer II position is assigned to the Boise Police Department Front Counter at City Hall West and serves as a primary point of contact for members of the public seeking police services, information, resources, or assistance. Provides in-person public service by evaluating requests for assistance, conducting interviews, preparing police reports and documentation, answering questions regarding police procedures, laws, ordinances, and community resources, and directing individuals to appropriate services.

The position also performs Community Service Officer duties in support of department operations, which may include responding to calls for service, conducting investigations, collecting and processing evidence, and assisting Patrol Officers, detectives, and the Crime Lab as needed.

This position works under immediate/direct supervision and is regularly scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at City Hall West.
