Job summary

MCEA Inc is seeking a Community School Programmer in Minnesota to schedule, market, and deliver a broad range of after‑school, evening, and weekend activities for youth in the Brooklyn Center area.

The role requires experience with preschool through Grade 5 youth, strong communication, and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to lift 20 pounds and work on-site in district facilities.

Job description

Full-time 175 days/8 hrs/day (Hours may includeafter school, evenings, and/or weekends.

This position is located at multipleelementarylocations in the Brooklyn Center/Brooklyn Park/Champlin/Dayton area.

Duties

Community School programs provide a variety of enrichment, recreation, and athletic classes and activities for preschool through Grade 5 youth. Programs are located throughout the Anoka-Hennepin School District.

Community School Programmers are responsible for scheduling, marketing, and delivery of a broad range of classes and activities after school, evenings, and/or weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in education, recreation, or related field.
• Experience working with preschool through Grade 5 youth.
• Good computer skills, including using Internet search engines, email, and MS Office software.
• Good communication and human/public relations skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
• Must be physically working in the building/on site.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to adult enrichment, park and recreation, or E-12 education preferred.
• One to three years of experience implementing enrichment, recreational, and educational programs for preschool through Grade 5 youth preferred.
• Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
• Community Education experience preferred.
• Experience recruiting instructors and/or volunteers preferred.
• Experience working with economically and culturally diverse populations preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing setting preferred.
• Arux/Bound Registration software experience preferred.
