Job summary

Maybelle Center is seeking a Community Safety Technician to provide security services across Maybelle Center facilities, ensuring a safe, respectful environment for residents and staff. The role emphasizes patrolling, monitoring, reporting, and emergency response with a calm, professional presence.

The position requires a GED or high school diploma, at least one year of related experience, and a valid security certification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid Unarmed Department of Public Standards and Training Certification.
  • Basic typing skills; familiarity with PC word processing; Windows environment.
  • Support a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Protect privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to residents and staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable addressing groups.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal patrols to secure access points and protect property and people.
  • Monitor property and deter unauthorized trespassers; provide a calming presence.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras to assess risks.
  • Prevent and detect theft or misappropriation of goods and funds.
  • Respond to emergencies and implement procedures.
  • Document rounds in Safety Logbook and write clear reports.
  • Interact positively with residents and staff to foster a respectful environment.
  • Cross-train and assist other departments as needed.
