Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires strong customer service ability and practical knowledge of police principles.
• Understanding of applicable laws and city/state ordinances.
• Ability to work various schedules including days, evenings, midnights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Respond to non-hazardous calls and assist with crime reports over the phone or on scene.
• Promote crime prevention and build rapport with community members.
• Assist officers in nonhazardous situations and nonhazardous area searches.
• Staff the department complaint desk, field walk-in complaints, and direct visitors.
• Prepare daily reports on crimes, accidents, and other duties; maintain logs and forms.
• Issue parking citations and support parking enforcement duties.
• Inspect department-issued transport and equipment; sign off citations.
• Counsel individuals seeking help and guide them to resources.
• Perform mail sorting and document handling for the department.
• Notify officers of court information and deliver council packets.
• Transports vehicles to Fleet Maintenance and performs data entry.
