Job summary

GLIDE seeks a Community Safety & Operations Assistant Manager to oversee daily safety operations, support the Safety & Surroundings initiatives, and ensure policy compliance. The role leads the Safety Team, manages building safety, and coordinates with other departments to support clients and staff.

The position requires evening/weekend duties on occasion, strong leadership, and a client-centric approach with a commitment to GLIDE’s mission of radical inclusivity, open doors to the community,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct supervisory experience
• Experience working with vulnerable and marginalized communities
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills; able to deescalate
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate and organize administrative projects
• Proficiency in MS Office; Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience leading safety or security teams in complex environments

Responsibilities

• Enforce operations and emergency response plans; ensure safety roles are filled
• Supervise an operational shift and optimize staffing for 7-day coverage
• Maintain assets security; track mail/package/donations
• Provide weekly feedback; document KPI-related metrics
• Lead conflict and crisis resolution using trauma-informed practices
• Collaborate with HR to develop policies and training
