Job summary

UCAN (Chicago) seeks a Community Safety Manager to lead Riverdale Community Convener and Safe Passage initiatives in partnership with CPS and IDHS. The role aligns staff, partners, and schools to ensure safe environments for youth and families while maintaining program quality and contract compliance.

The position requires strong program leadership, collaboration with community partners, and expertise in trauma-informed supervision and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Experience in community violence intervention, youth development, or school/community safety.
• Strong communication, leadership, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct implementation of approved work plans for Riverdale Community Convener and Safe Passage programs.
• Translate funder requirements into operating calendars, staffing plans, and documentation standards.
• Coordinate planning across programs while tracking milestones and risks.
• Lead Riverdale convening structure and maintain stakeholder communications.
• Manage daily Safe Passage operations, routes, and staffing plans.
• Supervise staff through coaching, performance feedback, and accountability processes.
• Maintain compliance with contract requirements and accurate reporting.
