Job summary

ResCare Community Living in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide nursing services, training, and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and related health needs. You will work with the team to address medical and psychiatric needs within home and community settings.

The role includes assessing medical needs, developing care plans, administering medications, and participating in IHP/POC teams, with opportunities to educate and mentor staff and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• One year experience working with medically complex individuals.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts medical assessments and collaborates with Intake staff to determine placement in the community.
• Participates in the development and implementation of service plans and supervises the medical components of the plan.
• Administers medications and maintains documentation for all medications given.
• Oversees management of high-risk medical conditions and private duty nursing services.
• Develops training flow charts and provides medical skills training to clients and staff.
• Participates as an IHP/POC team member and generates ongoing health care protocols.
• Provides consultation on home care issues and may assist with household activities as needed.
• May participate in IDT meetings and other safety committees.
