The Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) is one of the largest probation departments in the United States, supervising more than 70,000 individuals and employing over 600 staff members across 6 locations. We provide a wide range of services including community supervision, outpatient counseling, cognitive-behavioral programming, and residential treatment, designed to strengthen our clients’ abilities and support their long-term success. Position Overview
Under the direction of the Community Resources Program Manager, supervises the daily work of Community Resources staff who connect individuals under community supervision with employment, education, vocational training, housing, and supportive services. Ensuring established procedures are followed, assignments are completed timely, documentation is accurate, and routine service-delivery issues are resolved or elevated appropriately.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of assigned Community Resources staff and communicate work priorities established by the Community Resources Program Manager.
- Assign referrals, cases, and routine projects; monitor workload, follow-up tasks, and service timeframes; and notify the Program Manager of significant concerns
- Provide day-to-day coaching, instruction, and support to staff regarding approved procedures, documentation requirements, and effective client engagement.
- Review referrals for completeness and appropriate routing and assist staff in resolving routine barriers that delay access to services.
- Conduct routine reviews of case notes, service plans, referrals, outcomes, and required system entries; ensure identified documentation corrections are completed.
- Coordinate with supervision officers, regional staff, internal programs, and approved community providers to support timely service connections and continuity of care.
- Monitor the preparation of routine client progress updates and operational reports and submit them to the Program Manager for review or further action, as required.
- Address routine staff, client, and service-provider concerns professionally; document actions taken and refer to significant personnel, safety, policy, or service issues to the Program Manager.
- Review attendance and timekeeping, conduct staff huddles, support employee onboarding, monitor compliance with established procedures, and elevate recurring workflow concerns to the Program Manager.
- Contribute and help create a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a cooperative and amicable manner with managers, coworkers, subordinates, and members of the public.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- Travels to region offices, as necessary

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, or a related behavioral science field
- Minimum of three (3) years’ management/supervisory experience.
- Three (3) years’ work experience coordinating community services/resources to justice involved individuals.
- Three (3) years of lead-worker, supervisory, or comparable experience coordinating the work of others.
- Experience working with justice-involved individuals or other populations with multiple service barriers.
Knowledge/Skills
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include nontraditional hours.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and provide clear directions to assigned staff.
Licensure
- Must have a valid Texas Class C Automobile Operator's License and be insured under the Department's automobile insurance program.

Additional Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years’ management/supervisory experience working in a criminal justice organization.
- Working knowledge of community supervision, the adult criminal justice system, or community-based services.
- Experience using case management or data collection systems and collaborating with internal teams and community service provider
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may require a non-traditional work schedule
- Must have a valid Texas Class Automobile Operator’s License and must be insured under the Department’s automobile insurance program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the adult criminal justice court system, community corrections and supervision and how these two agencies are interrelated.
- Is a community collaborator and has 3+ years demonstrated history of building and sustaining a network of community service providers.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- Regular Full-time

Salary
- $6,404.87 Monthly ($36.95 Hourly) - $6,596.11 Monthly ($38.05 Hourly)

- Based on 26 Pay Periods
