About The Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD):

The Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) is one of the largest probation departments in the United States, supervising more than 70,000 individuals and employing over 600 staff members across 6 locations. We provide a wide range of services including community supervision, outpatient counseling, cognitive-behavioral programming, and residential treatment, designed to strengthen our clients’ abilities and support their long-term success. With a focus on utilizing evidence-based practices, we aim to improve outcomes and reduce recidivism for all clients under supervision.

Position Overview:

Coordinates the overall flow of all clerical tasks within his/her assigned Branch/Program. Responsible for receiving client referrals from the CSCD staff; monitoring the participant’s compliance with the program’s expectations; and communicating closely with community supervision officers as participants complete the program and are eligible for completion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates with clerical staff to assure clients are signed up for and enrolled in the DWI Education, Texas Drug Offender Education, DWI Pretrial Intervention, Thinking for a Change and Effective Decision-Making Programs.
  • Ensure instructors are scheduled to teach the Department’s education classes.
  • Coordinates the duties of the Community Service Restitution Program. Responsible for community service agency compliance and reporting of community service hour’s worked by clients.
  • Ensures that clerical tasks are equitably assigned to the Office Assistants.
  • Handles special typing requests from Branch/Program Manager and/or Supervisors regarding personnel matters.
  • Identifies incidents of poor performance by clerical staff and works with the Client Support Services Supervisor and Ombudsman to manage.
  • Conducts performance reviews of clerical staff.
  • Maintains inventory records and assures availability of all needed supplies and equipment. Reviews the accuracy and neatness of all clerical work.
  • Reports all necessary building and equipment repairs to the appropriate individuals.
  • Keeps accurate, up-to-date payroll records for all clerical staff.
  • Assists other supervisors with scheduling rooms for meetings or groups to ensure assigned cars are updated and maintained for staff use.
  • Train HCCSCD staff on community service registration processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Fleet Service
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Contributes to and helps create a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a cooperative and amicable manner with supervisors, coworkers, subordinates and members of the public.
  • Work overtime as required.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution.

Licensure:

Salary:
  • $3,602.39 Monthly ($20.78 Hourly) - $4,008.79 Monthly ($23.13 Hourly)

  • Based on 26 Pay Periods
