Job summary

The Salvation Army Northern Division Anoka County 360 Life Center in Blaine, MN is seeking a Social Services Assistant to help connect individuals and families with Salvation Army and community resources. This 32-hour-per-week, on-site role pays $17.23–$21.54 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in social services, clerical, administrative, or related support work required.
• Must pass required background checks.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet The Salvation Army’s Motor Vehicle Record requirements preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to work effectively with participants, staff, volunteers, and community partners, including individuals experiencing crisis or instability.
• Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries and assist participants with resources.
• Assist participants with forms and paperwork.
• Support programs and volunteer coordination, including food shelf operations and senior nutrition initiatives.
• Provide administrative support: data entry, filing, scheduling, record maintenance.
• Support seasonal programs and Salvation Army activities, including Toy Shop and local community programs.
