Description

DEDICATED TO STRENGTHENING THE HEALTH, SAFETY, AND INDEPENDENCE OF IDAHOANS

The Division of Family and Community Partnerships is seeking a Community Resource Development Specialist to strengthen community partnerships, expand access to resources, and improve outcomes for children, youth, and families across Idaho. This position develops community resources that help families meet essential needs, maintain stability, and keep children safely in their homes, with a focus on foster families, kinship caregivers, and families involved with or at risk of involvement with child welfare.

A key responsibility is the development, maintenance, and quality assurance of the FindHelp resource database. This includes engaging service providers, collecting and validating program information, maintaining service listings, coordinating data updates, identifying resource gaps, and increasing awareness and use of the platform. The specialist also supports the Idaho Community Resource Network (ICRN), a statewide initiative to improve resource navigation and connect Idaho families with community services and supports.

The position supports targeted community engagement initiatives, including Community Builders and Fostering Family Adventures, which strengthen community capacity and create meaningful opportunities for foster, kinship, and adoptive families. Through these initiatives, the specialist builds partnerships with public agencies, nonprofits, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, and other community stakeholders to expand resources and support for Idaho families.

The specialist works closely with 211 Idaho CareLine to strengthen resource navigation by identifying emerging community needs, connecting specialists with service providers and subject matter experts, and coordinating resource education and training. These efforts help ensure families, professionals, and community partners have access to accurate, current, and actionable information about available services.

As part of the Resource Development Team, the specialist collaborates with 211 Idaho CareLine, Navigation, Child Welfare, and external partners to improve access to existing resources and develop new resources where gaps exist. The position independently manages assigned outreach, resource development, data quality, and partnership activities within established priorities and policies while recommending improvements and opportunities for expanded collaboration.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized relationship-builder who is equally comfortable engaging community partners and managing detailed information. This individual brings curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative approach to turning connections and ideas into practical resources and sustainable community support for Idaho families.

This is a statewide position that will report to the nearest DHW office. The assigned work location will depend on workstation availability at a DHW office.
