Job summary

• Ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations covering service administration.
• Keeping knowledge of CMS, DMAS and related regulatory requirements current and applied.
• Providing summaries of work completed including Training Evaluations and Activity Reports.

Job Duties

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking two (2) motivated individuals to serve as Community Resource Consultants. This position serves as a subject matter expert regarding the provision of home and community-based services by developing and delivering technical programmatic assistance, mentoring, coaching, and organizational development support to Support Coordinators and DD Medicaid Waiver providers and others regarding DD Community Medicaid services statewide. This position works to build DD system capacity at the individual, provider, and system levels and participate in the on-going development of the three waivers in response to changes over time. This position also supports the achievement of DBHDS Performance Measure Indicators and additional defined measures.

Additional Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Providing technical assistance and training to Support Coordinators and DD Waiver providers.
• Assisting in the development of guidance materials to support the quality and availability of services.
• Representing the prevailing view of DBHDS in assigned area.
• Holding focus groups with Support Coordinators and providers interested in integrated, employment, day, and residential options to provide information, resolve barriers, and increase interest.
• Responding to community concerns as they arise to provide information to individuals, families, providers, CSBs, and other professionals as needed.
• Consistent adherence to state and federal regulations covering the administration and execution of services provided.
• Ensuring that knowledge of regulatory requirements associated with CMS, DMAS and other applicable regulatory entities is current and appropriately applied.
• Providing summaries of work completed including Training Evaluations, Training Attendance Logs, Activity Reports, Notes, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge and skills in human services area.
• Understanding of best practices in developmental disabilities, to include intellectual disabilities.
• Understanding of best practices in community developmental disabilities, to include intellectual disabilities, services.
• Experience in the delivery of human service programs that include program development, evaluation, policy/regulation development and analysis, and coordination of resources across organizational boundaries.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to work well independently and on a team, as well as the ability to develop and sustain relationships.

• Professional experience and comprehensive knowledge of the delivery of human service programs.
