Job summary

The State of Iowa - Executive Branch is hiring a Residential Officer for a 24-hour community-based corrections facility in Ottumwa. You will engage directly with clients, promote pro-social behavior, and support programming that reduces reoffending risk.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency.
• Ability to engage clients in community-based settings.
• Capacity to observe and assess client behaviors and interactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility security checks and searches as part of daily duties.
• Transport clients within the community when required.
• Utilize motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral strategies to support behavior change.
• Support case managers and clients in achieving goals while considering individual needs.
