Job summary

The State of Iowa's Iowa Department of Corrections is seeking a Residential Officer for a 24-hour, community-based corrections facility in Burlington. You will directly engage clients to support pro-social behaviors and participate in programs that reduce reoffending and aid successful reentry.

You will perform security checks, transport clients, and apply behavior-change techniques to facilitate lasting transformation while collaborating with case managers and a multidisciplinary team to ensure

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to build rapport and engage clients effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility security checks and searches as part of daily operations.

• Utilize motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral strategies to support change.
