Job summary

The City of Monroe, North Carolina, is seeking a Recreation Assistant to support daily community center activities, oversee rentals, and help prepare facilities for events. Under supervision, you will assist with program delivery, supervise groups of children and adults, and ensure safety and order.

You will collect fees, answer inquiries, enforce rules, and help maintain cleanliness and records. Some outdoor/indoor duties and basic first aid may be required as part of this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certifications required.
• Valid driver's license in North Carolina required.
• Experience with community recreation programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admit and supervise participants at recreation facilities and events.
• Collect user fees for rentals and programs.
• Monitor afterschool and community center activities and field rentals.
• Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Enforce facility and park rules and maintain order.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of facilities and grounds.
• Prepare facilities, equipment, and grounds for activities and events; ensure security.
• Maintain activity and incident reports; complete accident reports and basic first aid as needed.
• Perform related tasks as required.
