Job summary

Qualifications

  • 2+ years Experience conducting community outreach, stakeholder engagement and partnership development in underserved and ethnic minority communities (Required)
  • 2+ years Experience facilitating meetings, trainings, workshops, and community forums with diverse audiences. (Required)
  • 2+ years Experience providing technical support to agencies in the greater Los Angeles region, including community-based organizations and safety net health care providers (Required)
  • 2+ years Experience working in or with diverse organizations in Los Angeles County and knowledge of resources and needs of multiple neighborhoods within Los Angeles County (Required)
  • 1+ years Experience in project management, including planning, implementation, timeline development, and monitoring of complex initiatives. (Required)
  • 1+ years Research experience, including knowledge of research methods and terminology, data collection, human subjects research protections and IRB requirements. (Required)
  • 2+ years Experience developing and managing online communication with diverse community groups and members, including via e‑newsletters, website and/or social media (Required)
  • 1+ years Experience supervising students and staff (Required)
  • Knowledge of heath equity, social determinants of health, and factors contributing to health disparities among diverse populations. (Required)
  • Knowledge of community health promotion, program evaluation, and capacity‑building approaches that support sustainable community‑academic partnerships. (Required)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with researchers, staff, students, and diverse community members. (Required)
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across research, clinical, and community settings. (Required)
  • Demonstrated writing and proofreading skills to compose and edit correspondence, reports, proposals and other materials for distribution to diverse audiences. (Required)
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with sound judgement and initiative. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously while maintaining high‑quality standards and meeting established deadlines. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to use online research resources, virtual engagement platforms, and digital communication tools to facilitate community‑engaged research. (Required)
  • Transportation to be able to travel to community sites in Los Angeles and surrounding areas (Required)
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends (Required)
  • Spanish Fluency (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage community partners across Los Angeles County; conduct stakeholder interviews and community consultations to assess local priorities, needs and assets.
  • Develop and coordinate community training and capacity‑building activities; create culturally responsive educational and outreach materials.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of community‑partnered health disparities research projects.
  • Support collection and synthesis of information from community settings to guide program directions; coordinate field research activities and partner engagement.
  • Travel to community sites throughout Los Angeles County to facilitate relationship building and ongoing engagement.
