Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Director of Social Services or the Community Program Coordinator in delivering community center programs for children and adults, promoting emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Responsibilities include assisting with Community Kitchen, showers, and laundry programs; building relationships with participating families; enforcing safety rules; maintaining orderly facilities; and performing

Qualifications

Minimum of High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
Experience leading social service programs preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing, conducting and supervising community center programs including Community Kitchen, showers, laundry, and other services.
Help build relationships with parents and children who participate in these programs.
Enforce facility safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Maintain order in the Community Center by enforcing conduct rules and equipment use.
May be responsible for opening and closing the community center.
Help safeguard all equipment and supplies including tables, chairs, washer and dryer.
Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of the facility when used for programming.
Perform other duties as assigned.
