Job summary

Harford County Government seeks a Prevention Specialist to guide prevention programs (Bridge Program) for professionals, parents, and youth. You will engage schools and the community, conduct public speaking, and manage grant activities.

Work is on-site and off-site with evening and weekend commitments. You will collaborate with county/state officials and reporting administrators, ensuring accountability and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of substance use disorder concepts
• Ability to mobilize community action for prevention
• Ability to present on substance use and mental health topics
• Ability to conduct youth programming in group settings
• Experience with grant and fiscal reporting

Responsibilities

• Promote community awareness through events, marketing and outreach.
• Coordinate and promote substance use prevention programs with local agencies.
• Lead Bridge Program activities including case management and documentation.
• Deliver workshops and trainings on mental health education.
• Assist in grant writing and evaluation of prevention activities.
• Travel to multiple locations to provide services.
• Attend meetings and events during evenings/weekends as required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in public health, family studies, social work, psychology, criminal justice or related field

Associate's Degree + 3 years behavioral health experience

5 years behavioral health experience with youth
