Job summary

Qualifications

• Must meet minimum qualifications defined by Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) and Sioux City Police Department.
• Completion of High School or GED; must be 21+ by Oct 5, 2026; US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated City areas by foot, bike, motorcycle or vehicle to preserve law and order.
• Respond to calls involving accidents, thefts, disturbances and other incidents; enforce laws.
• Administer roadside sobriety tests and conduct investigations as needed.
• Collaborate with the community to reinforce public safety and trust.
• Prepare reports and testify in court as required.
