Job summary

Town of Palm Beach police officers protect life and property within the municipality, responding to calls for service and emergencies, investigating crimes, and enforcing laws. They must be Florida Certified Officers, U.S. citizens, at least 19, and meet license requirements.

Other duties include reports, court testimony, and ongoing training. Officers will perform safety checks, patrol, and assist in road and water rescue operations, with continuous certification in lethal and non-lethal

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate sound decision making during emergencies.
• Ability to observe situations analytically and record clearly.
• Ability to enforce laws with firmness, tact and impartiality.
• Ability to develop skills in handling firearms.
• Ability to safely operate motor vehicles or bicycles in routine and emergency conditions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service and emergencies, including criminal activity.
• Prevent crime and perform investigations and reports.
• Apprehend violators in accordance with state law and department policy.
• Provide first aid and assist injured or distressed individuals.
• Maintain equipment and participate in ongoing training and certification.
