Job summary

YUCCA FAMILY MEDICAL CARE, INC. in Yucca Valley, CA is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care under a physician's supervision. You will take histories, perform exams, order and interpret tests, and develop treatment plans, while coordinating with a small, collaborative team.

You'll document encounters in the EHR, support clinic workflows, and participate in quality improvements, with emphasis on compassionate, patient-centered primary care for local families.

Qualifications

• Current Physician Assistant license (or eligibility) in California and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification or ability to obtain certification within defined timeframe.
• Clinical skills in history taking, physical examination, diagnosis, and management of common primary care conditions.
• Ability to order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics, and to adjust treatment plans based on clinical findings.
• Strong patient communication skills, including explaining diagnoses and treatments in clear terms and providing empathetic, culturally sensitive care.
• Competence in electronic health record (EHR) documentation, prescription management, and maintaining accurate, compliant medical records.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, and to contribute to a respectful, team-oriented environment.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle a steady patient volume, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
• CPR/BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Previous experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or primary care settings is preferred but not required; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans under physician supervision.
• Document encounters in the medical record and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
• Support clinic workflows to ensure timely, efficient patient visits.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and uphold clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.
