Job summary

Baptist Health Paducah is seeking a Community Staff Pharmacist (PRN Float) to join our Community Pharmacy team. The role supports the Community Pharmacy Manager with operations and staff development, oversees dispensing, patient care, and compliance with policies.

Requirements include Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license, PharmD or Bachelor’s, BLS and Immunization certification within 6 months, valid driver’s license; prior community pharmacy experience preferred. 340B knowledge optional.

Qualifications

• Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.
• Pharmacy degree (BS Pharm or PharmD) required.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire.
• Must obtain Immunization certification within 6 months of hire.
• Community Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Community Pharmacy Manager with oversight of operations and personnel.
• Support orientation, training, and development of staff.
• Ensure compliance with policies, 340B program (if applicable), accrediting bodies, REMS, payers, and state/federal regulations.
• Complete claim and invoice reconciliation as needed.
• Control substances: ordering, receiving, inventory, dispensing per regulations.
• Maintain immunization protocols and ensure staff training including BLS/CPR.
• Ensure proper storage and security of medications (refrigeration etc).
• Monitor drug shortages and implement solutions to avoid delays.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce medication errors.
• Report Good Catches, ADEs, and medication/fluid errors.
• Coordinate safe transitions of care from hospital to patient and other providers.
• Provide prompt, friendly service prioritizing patient well-being.
• Perform responsibilities of Community Pharmacy Manager during their absence.
