Job summary

Rose Street Advisors in Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Program Assistant to support hunger relief programs, manage pantry operations, and assist with the Call Center and home deliveries. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years of customer service and/or social service experience.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and deescalate situations as needed.
• Willingness to deliver to all Kalamazoo County communities for home deliveries.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
• Demonstrates urgency, prioritizes, and meets deadlines.
• Experience with and ability to learn various computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide food assistance aligned with mission and values.
• Support Call Center: answer phones, create new client records, schedule appointments, handle inquiries, and manage escalations.
• Unpack and stock daily pantry and Caseworker Door orders.
• Prepare and check-in food orders, load vehicles for deliveries.
• Prepare orders for caseworkers and social service professionals.
• Interact with clients to assess food needs and prepare orders.
• Collaborate with volunteers and assist with training and leadership.
• Accept food donations at Caseworker Door and assist with home deliveries as needed.
• Follow food safety protocols and work with diverse populations.
