Job summary

Legal Services of North Florida is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to advance civil legal aid and support the Gun Violence Project in Tallahassee. The role focuses on connecting clients with non-legal resources, coordinating outreach, and building community partnerships.

The position emphasizes outreach, education events, and collaboration with attorneys, intake staff, and community partners to connect clients with essential services.

Qualifications

• Four years of work experience in community resource or coordination or front-line support to vulnerable individuals and/or victims.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and service providers to strengthen resources and referral opportunities for clients.
• Identify clients’ non-legal needs and connect them with appropriate community resources.
• Identify areas and populations within the service area that may benefit from increased legal assistance.
• Plan, coordinate, and support community education events, legal clinics, and outreach activities.
• Develop announcements and materials to support community events and outreach.
• Represent the organization at trainings, conferences, and community events to strengthen partnerships.
• Coordinate community education activities focused on legal issues and available resources.
• Collaborate with staff and partners to ensure outreach effectively reaches those needing assistance.
• Track outreach activities, outcomes, timekeeping, and grant-related information.
