Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services in Pittsburgh seeks a Community Engagement Coordinator to build awareness of legal aid programs and strengthen community partnerships. You will lead outreach, education, and events that connect clients with NLS services.

The role emphasizes collaboration, data-driven outreach, and trauma-informed engagement with diverse communities across a four-county region. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred; extensive outreach experience may be substituted.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within 4-county service area.
• Excellent computer skills with emphasis on MS Office and PowerPoint.
• Graphic design skills a plus (Canva, Adobe Suite).

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a community impact plan addressing access to justice and equity.
• Build and maintain strong volunteer and community relationships.
• Lead educational sessions with community members and partners.
• Create outreach materials (PowerPoints, flyers, newsletters, emails, social posts).
• Coordinate events and represent NLS at meetings and community events.
• Maintain internal calendar and track engagement.
• Contribute content to website, newsletters, agendas.
• Support grant applications and identify funding sources.
• Convene stakeholder meetings to identify system-level problems and improve services.
• Track and analyze community feedback and maintain contract database.
