Job summary

Kids Central is seeking a Community Relations Specialist to build and sustain partnerships with community groups, faith-based organizations, and media to promote fostering and adoption in five counties. You will coordinate recruitment efforts, events, and outreach to identify potential foster families and deliver targeted messaging.

The role emphasizes market analysis, planning, reporting, and engaging diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications Advertising, or related field and a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
• FPRA membership preferred and Accredited in Public Relations by FPRA highly desired.
• Experience in Child Welfare is preferred; additional years of experience may be substituted for education.
• Ability to clear a Level II Background Screen.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and insurable by agency’s current insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Conducts data and market analysis and reports findings to leadership.
• Identifies potential foster homes and recruitment targets across multiple counties.
• Develops Recruitment Plans and submits quarterly/monthly/annual reports.
• Conducts foster parent orientation and PRIDE Training sessions.
• Writes speeches, news stories, blogs, and press materials for community outreach.
• Builds relationships with community partners and manages media opportunities.
