Job summary

University of Illinois Extension in East St. Louis is recruiting a Community Outreach Advisor to connect university staff with community members and deliver high-quality programs addressing nutrition, caregiving, budgeting, and wellbeing.

You will work across local partners and events to broaden outreach and impact. The role requires a minimum of a high school diploma and 3 years of public-facing experience; extensions and CHW certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of work experience in public contact with a community-oriented organization.
• Preferred: Experience in Extension and/or certifications as a Community Health Worker or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deepen program partner relationships and provide approved program materials to community agencies and organizations.
• Refer clients to health services, WIC, food resources, schools, shelters, and Extension staff as needed.
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate community programs and classes with engaging instruction.
