Job summary

Maximus Federal in Fort Worth, TX, seeks an Outreach Counselor to deliver information on Texas Health and Social Services programs by phone and in person, helping clients with enrollment and eligibility while building community partnerships. You will engage with community, state, and faith-based organizations to strengthen Maximus' presence in the Alliance/Fort Worth area.

The role requires local travel, and bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant professional experience or equivalent.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish preferred.
• Travel within the region assigned is required.
• DSHS Community Health Worker certification preferred.
• One year of human services experience or experience dealing with the public.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

• Respond to complex customer inquiries via telephone, email, in person, or system-based workflows, providing accurate information on eligibility and enrollment.
• Conduct intake activities and facilitate eligibility determination processes for applicants.
• Present and explain program concepts, including waiver programs and managed care options.
• Assist consumers with application submission and data entry.
• Coordinate with health plans, community partners, and other stakeholders to resolve cases.
• Maintain confidentiality of protected health and personal information.
