Job description

Community Outreach Associate

West Los Angeles, California

Our Memorial Park is seeking an engaging, relationship-focused Community Outreach Associate to join our team. This is an opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, building meaningful relationships, and representing an organization with a long and respected history in the Los Angeles community.

We are stewards of legacy, honoring every life with sacred care. Our work is guided by our core values of Kindness, Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Diversity, and Quality, and we are looking for someone who will bring those values to every interaction.

We welcome qualified applicants of all backgrounds, regardless of religion, faith, or religious affiliation.

About the Role

The Community Outreach Associate serves as an ambassador, developing and strengthening relationships with community organizations, leaders, groups, and individuals throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

This position is ideal for someone who is energized by meeting new people, enjoys being active in the community, and understands that strong relationships are built through trust, consistency, follow-through, and genuine connection.

The Community Outreach Associate will maintain and nurture our existing community partnerships while identifying opportunities to develop new relationships. This includes participating in community organizations and clubs, attending events and galas, following up on referrals and introductions, and creating opportunities for us to educate and engage with the communities we serve.

The position reports to the Marketing and Community Outreach Director.

What You’ll Do

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with our existing community partners, organizations, and contacts.

  • Identify and cultivate new relationships through networking, referrals, community involvement, and outreach.

  • Represent us at community events, meetings, programs, galas, and other gatherings.

  • Develop relationships with Jewish, interfaith, and broader community organizations throughout the Los Angeles area.

  • Coordinate and participate in educational programs and outreach opportunities that increase awareness of our park and the services we provide.

  • Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to community organizations, groups, and prospective partners.

  • Consistently represent us with professionalism, warmth, discretion, and integrity.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys being out in the community and connecting with people face-to-face. They should be comfortable starting conversations, developing professional relationships, speaking to groups, and nurturing those relationships over time.

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • A natural ability to network and build authentic professional relationships.

  • An interest in learning about and engaging with Jewish and/or interfaith communities.

  • Sound judgment and the ability to manage sensitive information with appropriate discretion and confidentiality.

  • A high degree of initiative, accountability, and follow-through.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.

  • A professional, approachable demeanor and the ability to comfortably interact with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds.

  • A commitment to conducting business with the highest degree of integrity.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

  • Experience with Salesforce or another customer relationship management (CRM) system is preferred but not required.

  • A college degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

  • The ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds.

Schedule and Work Environment

The regular schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Because community engagement often takes place outside traditional business hours, occasional evening and weekend availability is required.

This position is initially on-site and community-facing to support training, relationship development, and successful integration into the role. Once established performance and training benchmarks have been successfully met, the position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule based on the needs of the role and the organization.

Full training is provided.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $32.69–$34.62 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Our company offers a competitive benefits package for full-time employees that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; a 403(b)-retirement plan; paid vacation; and company holidays.
