Job summary

Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle invites applicants for the ACE Community Organizer to advance advocacy and community engagement. The role focuses on building community power, strengthening civic participation, and translating community voice into action across multiple initiatives and funding sources.

The organizer will develop trusted relationships, coordinate Outreach and engagement activities, facilitate education, and support policy priorities while contributing to departmental goals

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in community engagement, organizing, advocacy, or public policy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent relationship building, facilitation, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrates cultural competency.
• Basic understanding of civic engagement.
• Ability to build trust quickly.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including late nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Advance the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle's ACE department by building community power and civic participation.
• Coordinate outreach and engagement activities across initiatives and funding sources.
• Facilitate community education and support advocacy campaigns.
• Translate community voice into meaningful action for policy priorities.
• Support coalition building, data-informed program implementation, and grant deliverables.
