Job summary

Chapa-De Indian Health in Auburn, CA is seeking an optician to join our Optometry team on a part-time basis. You will coordinate patient appointments, assist with diagnostic testing, and support frame and lens selections while maintaining inventory and quality control.

Applicants should have ABO certification and at least 5 years of experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting, plus proficiency with optical equipment and EMR systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• ABO certification with 5 years of optometry/ophthalmology office experience.
• Proficiency with optical equipment including lensometers and fitting tools.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and insurance billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Create exceptional patient experiences by coordinating appointments and guiding patients through their vision journey.
• Support clinical vision services with diagnostic testing and retinal imaging.
• Assist with frame selection, lens recommendations, eyewear fittings and repairs.
• Manage optical orders and inventory, ensuring timely delivery to patients.
• Promote mission and community health initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance.
