Job summary

Skowhegan Savings Bank seeks a Community Banker (Residential Mortgage Lender) to join our Business Center in Portland, ME. This full-time role focuses on selling deposit and loan products, building relationships, and delivering outstanding customer service.

The position requires NMLS registration under the SAFE Act and Regulation Z, with a background and credit check. You will develop new business, meet lending goals, and cross-sell bank services within the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
3–7+ years of experience in banking, sales or related area.
NMLS registration required under the SAFE Act and Regulation Z.

Responsibilities

Provides professional, eager, courteous and efficient service to all customers.
Promotes and executes a sales culture and builds relationships with new and existing customers by identifying their needs and determining the appropriate products or services.
Responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Retail Consumer and Small Business products/services and recommending appropriate solutions meeting customer’s needs.
Responsible for deposit and loan goals within the assigned region.
Cross-sell opportunities by referring clients to other bank services.
Makes and services loans within prescribed lending authority.
Ensures lending compliance with origination procedures, policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintains timely customer/lead updates in the Synapsis CRM system.
