Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Registered Nurse, Non-Institutional to support the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team at the Berkeley Community Mental Health Center in Moncks Corner, SC. The role focuses on comprehensive nursing care for individuals with serious mental illness in non-institutional settings.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
Nursing license by SC Board of Nursing must be obtained no later than 30 days after hire.
Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
Ability to lift 10 pounds.
Travel between clinics, homes, and community may be required.

Responsibilities

Provide direct services to ACT patients including assessment of health, social, psychiatric and medical needs; administer intramuscular medications as ordered; monitor effects and side effects; develop strategies to maximize adherence to medications.
Engage in health promotion, prevention and education activities.
Ensure patients are seen for medical/psychiatric appointments as needed.
Complete clinical documentation per SCDMH/QA requirements.
Participate in clinical supervision and daily treatment team meetings.
