Job summary

The Flatbush YMCA is seeking a Food Distribution Specialist to support the YMCA Community Market/food distributions, including receiving shipments, organizing, sorting, and distribution. The role ensures a safe, clean environment for community members and proper storage of supplies.

Responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day operations, maintaining documentation, answering questions, training participation, and upholding YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months of customer service/hospitality experience.
• Fluency in more than one language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify shipments.
• Organize, sort, and store supplies properly.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of staff and community members at the shop.
• Support day-to-day operations of the YMCA Community Market.
• Maintain accurate program documentation (invoices, delivery receipts, sign-in sheets).
• Assist community members with questions on distribution days.
