At DBeaver, our Community Manager will wear many hats to win the hearts and minds of software teams. In this role, you'll foster and build networks with developers, devops, engineering managers, and even business users. We believe that your work will help community members find solutions and answers to their questions faster, feel that they are part of the big story, and inspire them for future achievements.

At DBeaver everyone loves open-source and cares about our community. You won't need to fight for any initiatives; we will gladly listen to your ideas.

Location: This role can be based remotely in either the United States or Europe, or in our office in Belgrade, Serbia.

What You'll Do
  1. Work with the DBeaver community, managing community requests and tickets on GitHub, and potentially other platforms.
  2. Assess and build structure and internal initiatives to track, manage/organize, and escalate incoming community feedback and issues.
  3. Help respond to users with issues related to working with different databases using DBeaver desktop products.
  4. Conduct competitive analysis to assess how we can always lead the industry with powerful, engaged, thoughtful, and surprising advocacy and engagement.
  5. Build relationships within the industry and community to be their representative for DBeaver in helping to engage, be successful, and deliver great work and collaboration.
  6. Work with product, engineering, and marketing teams to help support your and their success.
  7. Always challenge our assumptions and be singularly focused on delivering the very best communication and collaboration platform in the world.
  8. Develop content that promotes engagement with different types of users, solving their problems, and using the product.
  9. Integrate company brand, voice, and messaging into developed content and represent that brand well.
  10. Be active in other communities and platforms to foster collaboration and relationships with other communities and organizations.
  11. Run powerful social media, events, and other outward-facing efforts to grow our customer, community, and user base.
What You Bring
  1. Experience working in technology and other online developer communities.
  2. Understanding of the world of databases and specific processes related to data management.
  3. Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts simply.
  4. Skills in facilitating complex and sensitive community situations with humility, judgment, tact, and humor.
  5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Nice To Have
  1. Experience and knowledge of open-source workflows, projects, and culture.
  2. Prior developer experience, preferably on infrastructure projects.
  3. Existing networks across diverse communities and social media platforms.
  4. Passion for databases and eagerness to help others, which cannot be learned from a resume.
