Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Summerville, SC is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform semi-skilled tasks for maintaining the building, grounds, equipment and appliances under the direction of the Maintenance Director.

The role includes operating common maintenance tools, performing preventive maintenance, painting surfaces, and assisting with resident safety drills and vehicle duties. A high school diploma and two years of maintenance experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years' maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of building maintenance practices and materials.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and machines used in maintenance.
• Disassemble and move furniture as needed.
• Perform repairs to building, equipment, and appliances.
• Paint surfaces and maintain exterior grounds.
• Transport residents in the community vehicle for appointments.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Support maintenance director with safety drills.
