Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Charleston, SC to perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks in a community setting. You will support the Maintenance Director with building, equipment, and appliance care, as well as grounds upkeep and safety drills.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of building maintenance practices and materials.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Able to complete assignments thoroughly and on time.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and machines used in maintenance.
• Order materials and handle basic communications.
• Make repairs to building, equipment, and appliances as directed.
• Disassemble and move furniture throughout the community.
• Check maintenance logs to ensure prompt response to requests.
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
• Prepare and paint surfaces in the community.
• Maintain exterior grounds and assist with landscaping and trash removal.
• Perform basic electrical work, including changing light bulbs.
• Transport residents in community vehicle to appointments.
• Assist with community vehicle maintenance schedule.
• Assist with resident safety drills.
• All other duties as assigned.
