Job summary

The Community Builders in Maryland is seeking a part-time Janitor to maintain cleanliness and presentation of the community, supporting residents and team members. This 16-hour-per-week role offers $19/hour and requires reliable transportation.

This position includes cleaning interiors and exteriors, assisting with landscaping tasks, turnover cleaning, and basic maintenance support, with outdoor work in various weather conditions and a focus on safety and presentation.

Qualifications

• English communication to interact with residents and team members.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to move up to 50 pounds and work in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled cleaning tasks: empty trash cans, clean windows, walls, floors, stairs, and carpets.
• Maintain exterior grounds cleanliness by picking up litter and managing trash areas.
• Assist maintenance staff with landscaping tasks: sweeping sidewalks, raking, planting flowers, and mulching.
• Clean vacant apartments during turnover.
• Replace batteries in smoke/CO detectors and bulb replacements; assist with minor deficiencies.
• Assist in snow removal and be available during weather events.
