Job summary

The Community Builders Inc. is seeking a part-time Janitor to uphold the cleanliness and presentation of our community in Elkton, Maryland.

Under the direction of the Service Maintenance Manager, you will perform regular cleaning tasks for interior and exterior areas while maintaining a positive team relationship with residents and staff. The role requires English communication, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Physical Demands: frequently moves equipment up to 50 pounds; works outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled cleaning of interior and exterior areas, including trash, windows, walls, floors, stairwells and carpets.
• Maintain exterior grounds by picking up litter and tending trash areas.
• Assist maintenance with landscaping tasks such as sweeping, raking, planting and mulch installation.
• Clean vacant apartments during turnover.
• Assist with battery/light bulb replacements and minor deficiencies.

Position Description

Under the direction of the Service Maintenance Manager, the Janitor is responsible for the overall cleanliness, physical appearance and presentation of the community, while maintaining a positive, productive relationship with the other team members and with residents. The Cleaner will provide janitorial duties to maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exteriors site through regular scheduled cleaning activities. This role is part-time for 16 hours/week at $19/hour.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for scheduled functions as emptying trash cans, cleaning windows, walls, floors, stairwells, and carpets.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior grounds by picking up litter and maintain trash areas.
• Support maintenance staff in landscaping activities including sweeping sidewalks, raking, planting flowers and installing mulch.
• Perform cleaning of vacant apartments on turnover.
• Perform smoke/co battery replacements, light bulb replacements and support on minor deficiencies.
• Assist in snow removal activities and be available for cleanup during weather events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
