Job summary

Yeadon Public Library is seeking a dynamic Library Director to lead a very active library in a diverse community. The Director reports to the Board of Trustees and collaborates with the Borough Manager to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Requirements include a Master’s in Library Science (ALA-accredited) and PA State Library Certification or eligibility within 6 months, plus at least 2 years of supervisory/administrative experience in a public library.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• PA State Library Certification or eligibility to acquire within 6 months.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/administrative experience in a public library or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient operation of the library facility.
• Maintain relationships and provide reports to Board of Trustees and Delaware County Libraries.
• Engage in community outreach and partnerships.
• Develop, implement, market, and evaluate programs for all age groups in a diverse community.
• Manage collection development including timely selection and weeding.
• Coordinate staff development and hire new staff as needed.
