Job summary

Silsby Free Public Library in Charlestown, NH seeks a creative, community-minded Library Director to lead a welcoming public library. This full-time role (35 hours/week) offers opportunities to shape services, engage the community, and collaborate with town officials and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, MLS preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• At least three years in a library setting preferred.
• Residence within ~30 minutes of Charlestown preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day library operations and work with the Board of Trustees to set policies, priorities, and long-term goals.
• Supervise and support part-time staff.
• Oversee budget implementation following town approval.
• Manage and promote collections, acquisitions, and resources.
• Develop and promote programs and services for patrons of all ages.
• Build relationships with local schools, town government, and community partners.
• Collaborate with the Board to meet community needs.
