Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a dedicated Community Liaison to facilitate liaison work between City agencies, residents, and community organizations. The role focuses on providing assistance, gathering input, and supporting housing and development programs within a public health framework.

Under supervision, you will perform field and office duties, supervise staff, and help communicate program objectives to diverse community groups.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of full-time experience in counseling, community work or community health activities in a government agency or community organization.
• Substitution options include education/experience equivalent to the above, six months training in community liaison work, or college study in sociology/behavioral science with at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Liaison between City agencies, local residents, and community organizations to provide assistance and mobilize participation for housing and community development programs.
• Perform duties in field or office; supervise staff and coordinate field office operations as needed.
• Explain programs and policies to community groups and relay information between communities and agencies.
