Firefly Children & Family Alliance in Columbus, IN is hiring a Community Liaison to advocate for at-risk children and families across Jackson & Jennings counties. The role partners with community agencies to assess needs, coordinate services, and monitor progress toward goals.

The position requires a relevant social service degree or equivalent experience, strong knowledge of local resources, and a valid driver's license; starting salary is $43,888 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field; OR other bachelor's with 3+ years in direct family work; OR associate's degree with 3+ years in direct family work; OR high school diploma with 5+ years in direct family work.
• Minimum 2+ years experience in social service for children or families.
• Experience in child development.
• Knowledge of community resources programs.
• Trained in recognizing abuse or neglect.
• Valid driver's license with insurance; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Referral Family Support (70%): gather family needs, guide families through goal-setting, provide home-based services, connect to local resources, initiate referrals, advocate for progress, provide transportation to services.
• Community Engagement (30%): maintain relationships with social workers and agencies, complete documentation.
