We are seeking experienced Mortgage Originators for a Community Lending Officer role to support our diverse communities. The Community Lending Originator supports educational activities, outreach efforts, and the full-cycle lending process for all Washington Trust clients, and potential clients, with a concentration on first-time home buyers and customers in designated CRA lending areas. The Community Lending Originator strengthens and develops strong community relationships and supports the growth and development of Washington Trust in Massachusetts.

This position requires 3+ years of mortgage origination experience with a proven record of developing networks, attracting new clients, and sales delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience working with low to moderate income borrowers. Strong communication, public speaking, and presentation skills, as well as strong attention to detail, are required. Fluency in Spanish preferred. NMLS is required.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of the community through Financial Literacy programs, developing and maintaining community relationships with non-profit agencies, community development corporations and local groups, assisting home buyers with grants and residential loan products.

Massachusetts requires Washington Trust to provide a good-faith, reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role for individuals working in our Massachusetts office. This position is commission based with earnings tied to performance under our commission plan. Estimated annual earnings range from $78,000 to $250,000 (based on meeting production standards and historical results; higher earnings possible with top performance). Commissions are paid biweekly. Commission is one element in our competitive compensation package.
