Job summary

DART, through its PEACE affiliate, seeks an Associate Community Organizer in Lakeland, FL to mobilize faith communities and build power to address local injustices.

You’ll spend time in communities, build relationships, recruit congregations, and organize direct action assemblies that demand change from decision makers.

The role offers training, generous benefits, and a starting salary of $52,000; evenings/weekends and travel may be required to serve a broad, diverse coalition.

Qualifications

• You have a passion for justice, and have acted on it.
• You can build strong relationships with people from all walks of life.
• Fluent speakers of Spanish are encouraged to apply.

• Ability to engage communities through outreach and organizing.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with faith communities and everyday people of faith.
• Organize direct action assemblies to demand action and accountability.
• Recruit congregations, coordinate trainings, and support leadership development.
• Travel to training events and engage diverse communities in linked actions.
