Job summary

The Arc Prince George’s County is seeking a Community Integration Specialist Supervisor to oversee a team of Community Integration Specialists. You will supervise staff, manage PCP processes, and support individuals with IDD in gaining independence and community inclusion.

Responsibilities include overseeing documentation, coordinating with families and community partners, and ensuring services meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or high school with supervisory experience in community settings.
  • Experience with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD).
  • Strong time management, communication, organization and documentation.
  • Proficient with computers; good oral and written skills.
  • Ability to solve problems, including emergencies; valid driver status.
  • CESP certification within 6 months, if not already certified.

Position Summary

The Community Integration Specialist Supervisor reports directly to the Program Administrator (or designee); Community Integration Specialist Supervisors (CISS) are responsible for oversight of a team of Community Integration Specialists (CIS). In addition to oversight, a CISS performs a wide variety of person-centered supports and services with a strong emphasis on personal choice of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The CISS develops and assists with the person-centered planning process, transports persons supported to and from home and activities, supervise, and implement daily program activities and community experiences. The CISS conducts community and employer outreach activities. The CISS will also carry a caseload, and are responsible for training of staff on their team. The CISS oversees timely completion of the annual Person-Centered Planning meeting and any additional meetings as needed, and ensure any follow-up from the meeting has been completed. The CISS also oversees documentation, activities and other assigned service related functions. The CISS is responsible for ensuring that all service documentation is in compliance with current regulations and quality assurance standards, as well as are completed promptly by those under their oversight; will act as Program Administrator when they are unavailable. Also provides the necessary support for the persons we support to achieve their desired lifestyles and increase levels of independence, productivity, and social/physical inclusion into the community.

Working Days & Hours
  • Scheduled Work Days: Monday - Friday
  • Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (40 hrs/wk)

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Supervision: Manage and support Community Integration Specialists, ensure appropriate staffing, provide coaching, enforce policies, and respond to crises or emergencies.
  • Person-Centered Service Delivery: Oversee implementation of Person-Centered Plans (PCPs), ensure timely meetings and documentation, monitor progress toward individual goals, and recommend service improvements.
  • Community Integration: Support individuals in participating in meaningful community activities, volunteer opportunities, and employment preparation while promoting independence, choice, and inclusion.
  • Direct Support: Assist individuals with activities of daily living, medication administration, personal care, behavior support, health monitoring, transportation, and emergency response while maintaining dignity and safety.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely completion of Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation, incident reports, medication records, attendance, behavioral data, and all regulatory reports in compliance with agency, DDA, and OHCQ requirements.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Maintain regular communication with individuals, families, staff, employers, and community partners; facilitate meetings; support teamwork; and participate in required trainings and organizational initiatives.
  • Employment & Community Partnerships: Serve as a liaison with community employers and agencies, provide on-site job coaching, teach workplace skills, and support individuals in achieving competitive integrated employment.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University and one years’ experience in providing service to adults with Intellectual Disabilities or a high school diploma and at least three years’ experience Supervising staff and/or individuals in community employment settings.
  • Minimum of 6-12 months of experience assisting individuals with Autism and/or other Intellectual and Developmental disabilities.
  • Must demonstrate skills in time management, communication, organization and documentation.
  • Must be computer literate and have excellent oral, written and communication skills.
  • Must have ability to problem-solve and assist in decision-making, including during emergencies
  • Must maintain current status regarding assigned core competencies and other required certification acquisition within established schedule and timelines
  • Must meet the criteria to be an approved driver for the Arc of Prince George's County and have reliable transportation
  • Must have the ability to work productively with individuals and other team members to develop relationships
  • Must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills and good customer service skills
  • Must obtain the Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) certification within the first 6 months in this position, if not already certified, and maintain the certification
